The Trill

The trill is usually written under one of these three forms :

However all three the signs mean exactly the same.

Rules for the trill:

  • All trills begin on the upper note
  • A trill is composed of a minimum of 4 notes

Apart from these two rules the trill may be interpreted freely by the performer. 

A trill written like this :Trill 0

can be interpreted for example as:

Trill 5
