Bach Invention no. 1

Bach’s invention nr. 1. I drop him here and will add more explanation as soon as I get it from Marina :)

The first ornament is a trill, and not a mordent, as older teachers regularly wrongly think. The reason for this is that old Czerny, Mason and Busoni editions were displaying a mordent on this note, which is wrong according to all manuscripts.

Bach has given no indication of speed for this Invention no.1 so it’s really up to the interpreter.  Among the famous interpreters the speed varies from 60 bps (Glenn Gould) till 120 (Andreas Schiff and Czerny) .
